Maverick County Hospital District Board hires Dr. Judith Birungi as Physician-Surgeon
Maverick County Hospital District Chief Executive Officer Terri Patlan-Contreras announced that the Board of Directors hired Dr. Judith Birungi as a Physician-Surgeon to the Physician Specialty Group and will be seeing patients at the Physician Specialty Group at 3406 Bob Rogers Drive, Suite 120, in Eagle Pass, Texas, (830) 757-4990.
“I am very excited to welcome Dr. Birungi to the hospital district,” said MCHD CEO Patlan-Contreras. “She is professional and relatable so patients will know that they will not only be cared for, but they will have a physician that is caring and compassionate and prepared to deliver great surgical care. I also am confident that she will be a lively member in our community,” added Contreras-Patlan.
Dr. Judith Birungi is a Board Certified General Surgeon by the American Board of Surgery. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the St. George’s University; St. George’s Grenada, West Indies. She then completed her residency at State University New York Upstate Medical University, in Syracuse, New York. Dr. Birungi as a General Surgeon practitioner performs various surgeries including inguinal and abdominal hernias, lipoma excisions, breast lumpectomies, and breast mastectomies, gall bladder surgery etc. She is also trained in Advanced Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Advanced Trauma Life Support. When she is not caring for patients, Dr. Birungi enjoys running, church, music, movies and books.
