Eagle Pass Independent School District Board of Trustees elected in Nov. 8th Election to be Sworn-In at Nov. 16th Board Meeting

The Eagle Pass Independent School District Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 6 P.M. at the District Service Center Conference Room to canvass the election results of the November 8th Election of four School Board Trustees, swear-in all elected Board members, and to elect new Board Officers such as President, Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer, and present plaques of recognition for service to outgoing Trustees Ignacio “Nacho” Saucedo and Humberto Torralba, Jr.
In the November 8th Election, four EPISD Board of Trustees were elected with two Board members, Hector Alvarez, Jr. and Glenna Purcell, winning re-election and two new Board members elected, Christopher Hiller and Jorge Barrera.
For EPISD Board of Trustee Place No. 1, Eagle Pass Water Works and Sewer System General Manager Jorge Barrera defeated three other candidates, Juan Jose “Pachi” Olivares, Ronnie Rivera, and Ricardo “Riche” Lopez to win election to this position as incumbent Humberto Torralba, Jr. did not seek re-election.
For EPISD Board of Trustee Place No. 2, local businessman Christopher Hiller defeated incumbent Trustee Ignacio “Nacho” Saucedo, Jr. for this position.
For EPISD Board of Trustee Place No. 6, local dentist and incumbent Trustee Hector Alvarez, Jr. defeated challenger Carmen Ravenna to win re-election to this position.
For EPISD Board of Trustee Place No. 7, retired educator and incumbent Trustee Glenna Purcell defeated challenger Carmen Schmerber-Garcia to win re-election to this position.
All four elected Board of Trustees will be sworn-in at the November 16, 2016 Board meeting.
