Eagle Pass Police Department Crime Report

Tuesday, January 3, 2017, 12:36 PM: An Eagle Pass Police Officer responded to a business located within the 2400 block of Second Street in regards to an alleged assault. The investigating officer spoke with a male complainant who informed him he had been attempting to affect an order of repossession on a 2011 Mercedes vehicle. During the course of the repossession an argument ensued between a male and female who are the alleged owners of and were attempting to drive away. The complainant stated he blocked the vehicle from leaving and in doing so alleges the male driver drove the vehicle towards him. The complainant informed officers the female approached and pushed him causing him to fall to the ground. The male and female fled the area in the Mercedes. Investigating officers spoke with witnesses and obtained cellphone video of the incident. This case is currently under investigation by the Eagle Pass Police Department Criminal Investigations Division.

Tuesday, January 3, 2017, 5:23 PM: An Eagle Pass Police Officer responded to the J.C. Penny’s Store in reference to store personnel struggling with a 23 year old male subject. Officers arrived to arrest the male subject who resisted the arrest and continued to be combative towards them. The subject was subdued and placed under arrest but it was unknown why the male subject had become violent. During the course of the incident the male subject damaged several displays and caused an unknown amount of damages to store property. The 23 year old male subject is pending formal charges of resisting arrest and criminal mischief before a magistrate at present time.
