Fourth Court of Appeals affirms conviction of Maverick Countian Homero Herrera

(Press Release) On December 30, 2016, the Fourth Court of Appeals affirmed the conviction and 35 year prison sentence received by Homero Herrera.  Herrera had been convicted by a Maverick County Jury for the murder of his wife, Blanca Herrera.  District Attorney Roberto Serna stated that his office takes all crimes involving domestic violence very seriously.  District Attorney Serna further noted that the jury’s verdict and sentence in this case shows that persons committing these crimes can expect to be punished severely.
