Eagle Pass Police Department Crime Report
Friday, February 24, 2017, 4:33 PM: Eagle Pass police officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance within the 1900 block of North Veterans Boulevard. Investigating officers spoke with an adult female who informed officers she had been assaulted by her male friend identified as 34 year old Luis Alberto Perez. The female informed officers that during the assault her teen daughter attempted to call 911 but her cellphone Was taken by Perez preventing her from calling for assistance. Perez was arrested and during the course of the arrest was discovered to be in possession of several pills of a controlled category. Perez was presented before a magistrate where he was formally charged with assault, obstructing an emergency telephone call and possession of a Controlled Substance. Perez Was remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $6500 bond.
Friday, February 24, 2017, 6:21 PM: Eagle Pass Police Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident with a pedestrian in the parking area of Walmart. Investigating officers spoke with the operator of a 2014 Black GMC Sierra who struck a 6 year old child as he was walking with a family member within the parking area. The child was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident.
Saturday, February 25, 2017, 11:55 AM: Eagle Pass police officers responded to a report of a hit and run accident at the intersection of Ferry Street and Ceylon Street. Responding officers were informed of a white 2000 Suzuki Grand Vitara fleeing the scene of the accident. Officers located the vehicle traveling north on Webster Street and initiated a traffic stop by means of activating emergency lights and sirens. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop for officers which initiated a pursuit through several city streets. The vehicle was finally stopped at the intersection of Ferry Street and Avenue B where the driver, 22 year old Ramon Albelardo Salinas was taken into custody. Salinas was later presented before a magistrate where he was formally charged with: Leaving the scene of an accident and evading arrest with a vehicle. Salinas was remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a combined bond of $106,000.
