Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce names Timothy “Tim” Hardt as 2016 Citizen of the Year

The Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce named Maverick County Junior Livestock Show and Sale Board President Timothy “Tim” Hardt as the 2016 Citizen of the Year at the 90th Annual Banquet on Friday, February 24, 2017.
Hardt was recognized as the Citizen of the Year for his unselfish and dedicated support of the youth in Maverick County through his volunteer work as President of the Maverick County Junior Livestock Show and Sale as well as people in need of help or assistance.
Hardt stated that many people had helped him while growing up in Eagle Pass that he decided to reciprocate and dedicate himself to helping the youth and people in need in the community. He noted that he has been helping children and young people in the community since his senior year in high school in 1978, totaling 39 years of community service.
Also nominated for the 2016 Citizen of the Year Award were Lisa Cain of LC’s Power Hour, Pablo Garcia-President of the C. C. Winn High School Student Council, Juan Martinez of Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center Pharmacy, U.S. Veteran Gary Sapoff, and Sandy Tovar-Founder and President of The Buddy Foundation.
