New England Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady’s Super Bowl LI Game Jersey Found in Mexico

Super Bowl LI’s Most Valuable Player New England Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady’s game jersey (No. 12) was found in a residence at Atizapan de Zaragoza, State of Mexico, Mexico belonging to a daughter of the alleged culprit, Mexican journalist Martin Mauricio Ortega Camberros, former Director of La Prensa newspaper, and returned to the National Football League (NFL) by the Mexican Attorney General’s Office.
As a consequence of the finding, the United States Department of Homeland Security cancelled Martin Mauricio Ortega Camberros’ visa to the United States. He will not be allowed to enter the United States anymore as a journalist or individual basis.
Mexican law enforcement authorities also found in Martin Mauricio Ortega Camberros daughter’s home the Super Bowl XLIX football jersey of Tom Brady and the Denver Broncos football helmet worn in Super Bowl L by Vonn Miller presumably taken by Ortega Camberros.
Although Mexican law enforcement authorities have not charged Martin Mauricio Ortega Camberros with any crime, the Houston, Texas Police Department under the leadership of Police Chief Art Acevedo still has an open investigation and may file criminal charges against Martin Mauricio Ortega Camberros for theft of property in state district court or the United States Attorney General’s Office may file federal criminal charges against Ortega Camberros for transporting stolen goods across state lines and out of the country. The Houston Police Department valued Tom Brady’s stolen Super Bowl LI No. 12 jersey at $500,000.
The stolen Tom Brady jersey was identified to be taken by Martin Mauricio Ortega Camberros after reviewing extensive videos of all news organzations filming in the New England Patriots locker room after the game and reviewing over 20,000 credentials of news media issued by the NFL. A video shows a man identified as Martin Mauricio Ortega Camberros with his back to the camera picking up Tom Brady’s No. 12 jersey from a black leather bag belonging to Brady and placing it in another black bag on Ortega Camberros’ left shoulder and walking out of the locker room.
The NFL issued Super Bowl XLIX, L, and LI credentials to Martin Mauricio Ortega Camberros as an international journalist.
The Houston Police Department was assisted by the Texas Rangers, FBI, NFL Security, New England Patriots Security, and the Mexican Attorney General’s Office in the investigation. The investigation remains open as of press time.
