The Houston Astros shut out the New York Yankees 4-0 in the final and decisive game seven of the American League Conference Series (ALCS) on Saturday, October 21, 2017, to advance to the 2017 World Series of Baseball against the Los Angles Dodgers starting on Tuesday, October 24th, at Los Angeles, California.
Astros ace pitcher Justin Verlander won the ALCS Most Valuable Player Award for his outstanding pitching during two games of the ALCS series that resulted in two key victories for the Astros against the Yankees.
The 2017 ALCS Championship is the Houston Astros first league championship since switching to the American League and second overall since 2005.
