Texas Congressional District 23 Candidate Gina Ortiz-Jones to Host Meet & Greet Reception on Tuesday, February 13th, in Eagle Pass, Texas

Texas Congressional District 23 Candidate Gina Ortiz-Jones announced she is hosting a Meet and Greet the Candidate Reception on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 from 5:30 P.M. through 7 P.M. at La Parrilla de San Miguel Restaurant, located at  408 South Texas Drive, in Eagle Pass, Texas.

Gina Ortiz-Jones is a candidate for the Democratic Party nomination to the United States House of Representatives Texas 23rd District in the March 6, 2018 Primary Election.

Gina Ortiz-Jones is an Iraq War veteran and served as a U.S. Air Force Intelligence Officer.  She advised on intelligence operations in Latin America and Africa, and later went on to advise on economic and national security issues in the Executive Office of the President.

Ortiz-Jones is the daughter of an educator who immigrated to the United States. She was raised in San Antonio, Texas and graduated from John Jay High School. She understands first-hand the importance of hard-work, humility, and the need to serve one’s community.  She attended Boston University on an ROTC Scholarship. Through her personal and professional experiences, Ortiz-Jones believes that national security starts with domestic opportunities like affordable health care, quality public education, and job opportunities. She initiated in 2013 the John Jay “Service through Leadership” Scholarship at her alma mater, John Jay High School in San Antonio, to recognize students excelling in the classroom and honing their leadership skills through community service.

Gina Ortiz-Jones has earned endorsements from former State Senators Leticia Van de Putte and Wendy Davis, EMILY’S List, VoteVets, and the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
