The 2018 Texas Primary Election for both the Democratic and Republican Parties only has three days remaining of Early Voting Period, February 28th through March 2nd, and the Election Day on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 to cast your ballot and make a difference in Maverick County, State of Texas, and Federal public government positions. Your vote is your voice.
Maverick Countians may cast their Early Voting ballots at the City of Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center located at 480 South Adams Street in the Fort Duncan Park in Eagle Pass, Texas until Friday, March 2nd. Following March 2nd, Maverick Countians will have to cast their ballots at their regular County Polling Places.
The Texas Primary Election is critical to Maverick County voters because all County-wide races only have Democratic Party candidates and no Republican candidates, meaning that the winners of the Texas Primary Election on Tuesday, March 6th, for Maverick County races will become the winners of these public service positions unless there is a Run-Off or draw a write-in candidate in the General Election scheduled for November 6, 2018.
Maverick County races drawing the most attention include the 293rd Judicial District Court Judgeship featuring candidates Cecilia A. Mascorro, Maribel Flores, and Ricardo Ramos seeking the Democratic Party nomination while there are no Republican Party candidates; the Maverick County Judge featuring David R. Saucedo, Rudy Bowles, and Gloria E. Hernandez; the United States House of Representatives, 23rd Congressional District, featuring Democratic Party candidates Judy Canales, Rick Trevino, Angela “Angie” Villescasz, Jay Hulings, and Gina Ortiz Jones; Texas House of Representatives, 74th District, featuring Alfonso “Poncho” Nevarez running unopposed; Maverick County Commissioner Precinct 2 featuring Arianna Perez, Everardo Ballesteros, Rosy Cantu, and Martha Chacon; Maverick County Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 featuring Kina Mancha and Eluterio Rodriguez; Maverick County Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 featuring Dora Madera, Rossana Rios, and Asalia Casares; Maverick County Justice of the Peace Precinct 3A-B featuring David J. Castaneda, Domingo Rodriguez, Jr., and Jose Hernandez; and the Maverick County Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 featuring Tere Hernandez, Antonio Garcia, and Orlando J. Escareño.
