Breaking News! Maverick County Man Killed By Gunshot and Another Injured, Suspect Detained

The Maverick County Sheriff’s Department reports that one Maverick County man was shot and killed while another man was seriously injured and transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center Emergency Room and later transferred to a San Antonio, Texas medical center on Sunday, March 25, 2018.
The alleged gunman is detained at the Maverick County Tom Bowles Detention Center while the case is being investigated.
The preliminary investigation indicates that there was some type of altercation between the two men shot and the alleged gunman at a residence in Deer Run Subdivision in northern Maverick County, Texas during the early morning hours of Sunday, March 25th.
The man shot and killed has been identified as Michael Salinas, age unknown, of Eagle Pass, Texas and the injured man is Sabino Salinas, age unknown, also of Eagle Pass.
As of press time, the name of the alleged suspect responsible for firing a gun at these two men is detained, but his identity has not been released yet by the Maverick County Sheriff’s Department as the case is still under investigation.
All alleged suspects or persons detained pending an investigation are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court at law.
