2018 Maverick County, Texas Democratic Party Primary Run-Off Early Election Results

A total of 5,775 Maverick County, Texas voters cast their ballots in the Democratic Party Primary Run-Off Election during the Early Voting Period held from May 14-18, 2018.
For Maverick County Judge, incumbent David R. Saucedo received a total of 2,938 votes (51.73 percent) compared to challenger Rudy Bowles’ 2,742 votes (48.27 percent), a lead of 196 votes by Saucedo.
For Maverick County Commissioner Precinct 2, incumbent Rosy Cantu garnered 752 votes (56.04 percent) while challenger Arianna Perez earned 590 votes (43.96 percent), a lead of 242 votes for Cantu.
For Maverick County Justice of the Peace Precinct 2, challenger Rosanna “Roxi” Rios received 781 votes (59.03 percent) compared to incumbent Dora Madera’s 542 votes (40.97 percent), a lead of 239 votes for Rios.
For Maverick County Justice of the Peace Precinct 3A-B, incumbent Domingo “Mingo” Rodriguez garnered 832 votes (57.62 percent) while incumbent David J. Castaneda obtained 612 votes (42.38 percent), a lead of 220 votes for Garcia.
For U.S. House of Representatives, 23rd District of Texas, Gina Ortiz-Jones earned 2,801 votes (57.72 percent) compared to Rick Trevino’s 2,052 votes (42.28 percent), a lead of 749 votes for Ortiz-Jones.
For Texas Governor, Lupe Valdez received 3,469 votes (74.59 percent) compared to Andrew White’s 1,182 votes (25.41), a lead of 2,227 votes for Valdez.
Today’s regular Democratic Party Run-Off Election Day votes remain to be counted as of press time and are expected to be announced between 8:30-9 PM with the final unofficial election results. Stay tuned.
