City of Eagle Pass Aquatic Center Snack Bar Broken into Three Times in Recent Weeks

(PRESS RELEASE) In recent weeks, the City of Eagle Pass Aquatic Center has experienced three separate incidents in which entry to the snack bar/office was gained after hours without consent.
Although major items of value were not removed from the premises, inventory of snacks was reduced when the actor or actors took these items without consent and at a cost to the City of Eagle Pass.
The entry into a secured building without the effective consent of the owner with the intent to commit a theft under the Texas Penal Code section 30.02 is a state jail felony.
If an individual or individuals are found guilty of a state jail felony they may be confined in a state jail facility for a period of not more than two years or less than 180 days. In addition to confinement the individual or individuals found guilty of a state jail felony may be punished by a fine not to exceed $10,000.
The Eagle Pass Police Department is actively investigating these incidents and following up on possible suspects who may have been involved. Any person or persons found to be responsible for these acts will be held accountable and prosecuted in accordance with Texas law.
