Eagle Pass Police Department Crime Report
(PRESS RELEASE)
Sunday, August 19, 2018, 12:21 AM: Eagle Pass Police Officers responded to the Walmart Super Store in reference to theft over $100.00. Officers were advised of a male subject who exited the store without making any attempt to pay for two 32″ televisions valued at $138.00 each. The male boarded a black Chevy Avalanche pickup which was stopped by officers as it attempted to leave the area. 26-year-old Hector Jesus Chaires was placed under arrest and later presented before a magistrate where he was formally charged with theft over $100.00 and remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $1000.00 bond.
Sunday, August 19, 2018, 2:35 AM: Eagle Pass Police Officers responded to a possible disturbance report within the 400 block of South Bibb Street. Responding officers encountered a couple walking within the south parking area of the mall and spoke with 19-year-old Luis Gerardo Reyna and 20-year-old Jailine Castañeda. While speaking with both parties, strong odor of type of alcoholic beverage was detected on their breath. Reyna and Castañeda were placed under arrest as their age at the time of report placed both of them under the legal age of 21 In the State of Texas to consume, possess or purchase alcohol. Both were transported to the Eagle Pass Police Department where they were to be later released on individual citations for public intoxication and consumption of alcohol by a minor.
Between Friday August 17th and Monday August 20th, four (4) persons were arrested, three (3) which have been formally charged for driving while intoxicated to include:
- 22-year-old Jose Alberto Bosquez $2000 Bond
- 37-year-old Jose Luis Castillo $1500 Bond
- 47-year-old Marco Vasquez $2000 Bond
- 4th person still pending formal charges (arrested on 08/20/18)
