2018 Eagle Pass Retail Job Fair to be Held Nov. 2nd
(PRESS RELEASE) The City of Eagle Pass Business & Economic Development Committee (BEDC) will hold the 2018 Eagle Pass Retail Job Fair in partnership with the Mall De las Aguilas, Workforce Solutions Middle Rio, and Rio Grande Development Council on Friday, November 2, 2018, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., at the Mall de las Aguilas.
“We are very pleased that the Eagle Pass BEDC is working through its collaborative partners to expose our residents to employment opportunities, especially as we approach the holidays,” says Eagle Pass Mayor Ramsey English-Cantu.
The Eagle Pass BEDC held a collaborative career fair last month in partnership with Southwest Texas Junior College where over 500 students and residents visited with 46 employers about career opportunities.
The BEDC also hosted Texas Workforce Commissioner on Labor Julian Alvarez at a Labor Workforce Summit on October 3. Commissioner Alvarez praised the City of Eagle Pass, Workforce Solutions Middle Rio, Southwest Texas Junior College, Sul Ross University, and Eagle Pass Independent School District for working with together with the business community to strengthen the local labor workforce.
“Eagle Pass has demonstrated that it is committed to working through in collaborative efforts to grow economic development and I applaud Mayor Ramsey English-Cantu and City Council for supporting the ongoing efforts of the Eagle Pass BEDC and its chairman, Morris Libson,” says Texas Workforce Commissioner Julian Alvarez.
