Early Voting Underway at Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center, Special Saturday Oct. 27th Early Voting Scheduled

Early Voting for the historic November 6, 2018 State Election is underway in Maverick County until Friday, November 2nd, at the City of Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center, 480 S. Adams Street, in Eagle Pass, Texas during 8 A.M.-5 P.M., featuring the hotly contested Eagle Pass Independent School District Board of Trustees’ three races, the Maverick County Hospital District Board of Directors two places, the United States Senate race, the United States House of Representative District 23 race, the Governor of Texas, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General of Texas, all State Officers’ races, and uncontested local races such as State Representative District 74, Maverick County Judge, District Judges, County Commissioners for Precincts 2 and 4, and others.
Texas and the United States is experiencing a record turnout at the Early Voting polls and the only thing missing are the over 30,000 registered voters in Maverick County to come out to the Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center to cast your ballot for the candidates of your choice during Early Voting from October 22nd through November 2nd and on Regular Election Day on Tuesday, November 6th, at your county precinct polling places.
A special Saturday Early Voting Day will be held this Saturday, October 27th, from 7 A.M.through 7 P.M. at the Eagle Pass Mulit-Purpose Center in Maverick County to allow voters who work during the week or have not had an opportunity to go vote yet to exercise their right to vote. It only takes five minutes of your time to come out to the Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center with a valid photo I.D. to cast your vote. Simple.
Locally, the Eagle Pass Independent School District Board of Trustees’ three races are drawing many voters to the polls featuring Place 3 between local attorney Victor E. Perry and Maverick County Sheriff’s Department Grant Administrator Ignacio “Nacho” Saucedo, Place 4 between incumbent Board Vice President and local pharmacist Dr. Hilda P. Martinez and former newspaper reporter Rex McBeath, and Place 5 between incumbent Board President and local healthcare executive Lupita Fuentes and local car salesman Mayito Obregon.
The Maverick County Hospital District Board of Directors two places has four candidates vying to become among the two top vote getters, including incumbent Board Chairman and retired education administrator Adolfo “Fito” Olivares, incumbent Board Member and Certified Texas Healthcare Trustee Ronald Hixson, local entrepreneur Aaron Valdez, and local resident Joaquin “Jacky” Menchaca.
Statewide, the race garnering the most interest is for United States Senate between Democratic Party candidate and Congressman Beto O’Rourke and incumbent Republican Party Senator Ted Cruz. Beto O’Rourke has drawn a large following from Texans of all walks of life while Ted Cruz is supported by conservatives.
Another race drawing local interest is for United States House of Representatives, Texas District 23, between Democratic Party candidate former U.S. Intelligence Officer Gina Ortiz Jones and Republican Party candidate and incumbent Will Hurd.
There are many other County and Statewiede races on the ballot such as the Fourth Court of Appeals, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, the Texas Supreme Court, State Board of Education, Land Commissioner, Agriculture Commissioner, Railroad Commission of Texas, and others.
All 30,000 plus Maverick County registered voters are invited and encouraged to vote in the November 6th State Election during the Early Voting Period from October 22nd through November 2nd at the Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center and on Regular Election Day on Novmeber 6th at your county precinct polling place.
Bring your spouse or partner, parents, adult children, extended family members, friends, and co-workers to come out and vote with you.
