Eagle Pass Police Department Crime Report
(PRESS RELEASE) Thursday, November 1, 2018, 11:25 PM: Eagle Pass Police Officers responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle within the 200 block of Pecos Street. Officers spoke with two females in a maroon colored SUV who were identified as an adult female and an juvenile female. The adult female was later discovered to have provided a fictitious name to investigating officers and was subsequently arrested for doing so. 29-year-old Veronica Barrientos was later presented before a magistrate where she was formally charged with providing a false or fictitious name to an officer and remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $1250.00 Bond.
Friday, November 2, 2018, 6:37 PM: An Eagle Pass Police Officer spoke with a representative of a business which rents U-Haul Trailers. The representative informed the officer he came upon a trailer within the 1900 block of South Veterans Boulevard hooked up to an identified vehicle. The trailer is believed to be one which was reported stolen to the Eagle Pass Police Department. Upon informing the driver of the vehicle that the trailer was possibly stolen; the driver boarded the known vehicle and left the area prior to the arrival of officers. This case is under investigation by the Eagle Pass Police Department Auto Theft Division.
Sunday, November 4, 2018, 2:23 AM: An Eagle Pass Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on a 2003 green Ford Expedition pursuant to a traffic violation. The investigating officer later detained a 39-year-old adult male for suspicion of driving while intoxicated with minor children passengers. A warrant was obtained for a blood specimen and at present time formal charges are pending.
Sunday, November 4, 2018, 6:22 AM: Officers responded to a residence within the 500 block of Pecos Street in reference to a disturbance. Investigating officers spoke with three parties at the scene and arrested an adult male and female. The adult male later identified as 21-year-old Alvaro Rodriguez was later formally charged before a magistrate with assault and remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $700.00 Bond.
