Eagle Pass Police Department Crime Report

Friday, December 21, 2018, 2:05 AM: An Eagle Pass Police Officer arrested 24 year-old Eduardo Navarrete after he was stopped pursuant to a traffic violation operating a red 2000 Ford Explorer. Navarrete displayed numerous signs of intoxication after standardized field sobriety tests were conducted. Navarrete later provided a voluntary breath specimen which resulted in his alcohol concentration being almost twice the legal limit allowed in the State of Texas. Navarrete was later presented before a magistrate where he formally charged with driving while intoxicated and remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $3500.00 bond.
Sunday, December 23, 2018, 2:15 AM: Officers responded to a bar within the 300 block of Main Street in reference to a fight in progress. Officers spoke with a female who informed she had been walking outside the business with her husband when they were approached by a male subject identified as 21-year-old Eduardo Salazar. The female stated Salazar then struck her husband causing him to fall. An ambulance was summoned and transported the 40-year-old victim to the emergency room for treatment of injuries sustained. Eduardo Salazar was placed under arrest and later presented before a magistrate where he was formally charged with assault and remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $7000.00 bond.
Monday, December 24, 2018, 10:12 AM: An officer responded to a business within the 100 block of Main Street after a report of counterfeit currency was received. The investigating officer spoke with store personnel who stated they had received a counterfeit $10.00 bill during a transaction. The person who attempted to utilize the bill informed the investigating officer that it was unknown when or where the bill had come into her possession. The bill was seized and will be referred to the respective government agency.
Monday, December 24, 2018, 7:06 PM: Eagle Pass Police Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident with a motorcyclist at the intersection of El Indio Highway and Laredo Street. The 32-year-old male operator of the motorcycle was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained. The motorcycle operator was discovered to be wanted out of Bexar County on a warrant for aggravated Sexual Assault. Bexar County Sheriff’s Department officials were notified the subject would be transported to a medical facility in San Antonio via air ambulance where they could proceed with taking custody. The accident remains under investigation.
Monday, December 24, 2018, 7:06 PM: Officers responded to a single vehicle car accident at the intersection of Garrison and Commercial Street. Investigating officers detained the 22-year-old female driver and conducted standardized field sobriety tests in which she performed poorly. A voluntary blood specimen was obtained and formal charges in this incident are pending lab results on the specimen. A 25-year-old male passenger identified as Reuben Issac Montemayor was arrested after a field test kit identified a substance in his possession as synthetic based cannabis product. Montemayor was later presented before a magistrate where he was formally charged with possession of a controlled substance and remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $1,000.00
