2019 MCJLS “Muy Grande BBQ Cook Off” to be held January 11-12th, Contestants Invited

The 2019 Maverick County Junior Livestock Show Association’s (MCJLS) “Muy Grande BBQ Cook Off” with $10,000 in prize money guaranteed will be held on January 11-12, 2019 at the City of Eagle Pass International Center for Trade, located at 3295 Bob Rogers Drive, in Eagle Pass, Texas, announced Jonathan Mauer.

The “Muy Grande BBQ Cook Off” is open to the public and any individual may register for an entry fee of $150 to participate in this year’s event scheduled for January 11-12th. The BBQ competition categories are Brisket, Pork Spare Ribs, Half Chicken and the Jackpot categories are Beef Fajitas, Beans, and Chili. 

Money prizes will be awarded for the Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion, and for First to Tenth Place. The Grand Champion will receive a $1,000 prize, the Reserve Grand Champion will receive a $600 prize while the Brisket, Pork Spare Ribs, and Half Chicken categories will receive $700 for First Place, $500 for Second Place, $450 for Third Place, $325 for Fourth Place, $200 for Fifth Place, $175 for Sixth Place, $150 for Seventh Place, $125 for Eighth Place, $100 for Ninth Place, and $75 for Tenth Place.

In addition, Belt Buckles will be awarded to the Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion, and First Place Categories.

Participants and attendees will also enjoy live music and entertainment and be able to shop at many vendor booths including clothing, art work, jewelry, and other fun activities.

The two day “Muy Grande BBQ Cook Off” is an official event of the 2019 Maverick County Junior Livestock Show and Sale sponsored by the Maverick Conty Junior Livestock Show Association.

All proceeds raised at the 2019 “Muy Grande BBQ Cook Off” will benefit the Maverick County Junior Livestock Show Association and its many local 4-H and FFA members and activities.

Everyone is cordially invited to attend and participate in the 2019 “Muy Grande BBQ Cook Off” during January 11-12th in Eagle Pass, Texas.
