Business Funding Opportunity Workshop to be held January 17th
(Press Release) The City of Eagle Pass Business & Economic Development Committee (BEDC) will hold a Business Funding Opportunity Workshop in partnership with PeopleFund and Ambitious Management, LLC on January 17, 2019, at 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., at International Center for Trade (West Room).
PeopleFund is an SBA approved microlender, which provides new business start-ups or high-risk businesses alternate sources of working capital. Most of the businesses that receive loans from PeopleFund typically struggle to secure business loans from traditional financial institutions. PeopleFund works with business owners to develop tailored loan applications that work within operational budgets, which can be paid over a short-term and allow the business to strengthen its credit rating. All PeopleFund loans are fully backed by the SBA. PeopleFund also offers a variety of services to support new businesses, such as; financial planning, credit counseling, and business development.
The workshop will also include a session on important tax tips. There are many tax incentives designated for small businesses that help minimize tax labilities, which can positively impact a business’ bottom line. Each year hundreds of thousands of businesses fail to take advantage of tax incentives and deductions that strain cashflow that can be used to help expand business development and grow revenue.
“Securing working capital can be a huge struggle for business owners and I am pleased that the City of Eagle Pass BEDC is hosting this workshop,” says Mayor Ramsey English-Cantu. “The city council and I are fully committed to supporting all businesses in Eagle Pass and the region,” adds Mayor English-Cantu.
The City of Eagle Pass BEDC has held 15 business workshops since last year and has scheduled workshops through the end of the year.
