State Representative Poncho Nevárez to serve his 4th Texas Legislative term; — Texas lawmakers will be sworn-in January 8, 2019.

(Press Release) Rep. Poncho Nevárez cordially invites the constituents of House District (HD) 74 to join him as members of the Texas State House of Representatives convene for the 86th Legislative Session. Secretary of State David Whitley will administer the oath of office to the legislators at noon in the House chambers.
The Texas State Legislature, operates under the biennial system, convenes its regular sessions on the second Tuesday in January of odd-numbered years. The maximum duration of a regular session is 140 days.

Representative Alfonso “Poncho” Nevárez is currently serving his third term as the State Representative for House District 74, which includes the counties of Brewster, Culberson, Hudspeth, Jeff Davis, Kinney, Loving, Maverick, Pecos, Presidio, Reeves, Terrell, and Val Verde. He serves as the Vice-Chair of the Homeland Security and Public Safety Committee. He is also a member of the Natural Resources Committee, and a member of the Local and Consent Calendars Committee.
