Seven Eagle Pass Winn Mavericks Earn 2019 District 28-5A All-District Basketball Team Honors

Eagle Pass C. C. Winn High School Mavericks Boys Basketball Head Coach Paulo Valero announced that seven Maverick players earned 2019 District 28-5A All-District Basketball Honors according to the voting of all District Head Basketball Coaches.

Named to the 2019 District 28-5A All-District Basketball Second Team were Moy Gaytan who averaged 12 points per game with seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals per game during the 2018-2019 season and Jairo Maldonado who averaged 12 points per game with five rebounds, three assists, and two steals per game during the 2018-2019 season. Coach Valero stated that Gaytan and Maldonado had worked very hard all year to prepare for the 2018-2019 season and their dedication and efforts were rewarded by being named to the elite All-District Second Team.

Also receiving recognition to the 2019 District 28-5A All-District Basketball Honorable Mention were Diego Rodriguez, Eduardo Nava, and Eric Sanchez.

In addition, two Mavericks were named to the coveted 2019 District 28-5A All-District Academic Team for their academic and athletic performance during the 2018-2019 season, including Eric Sanchez and German Velasquez.

Coach Valero congratulates all seven Mavericks basketball players for earning 2019 District 28-5A All-District Basketball Team Honors and wishes them the best in all of their future endeavors.  Roll Mavericks Roll!
