Eagle Pass Lady Eagles Softball Sweep La Joya Lady Coyotes 10-5 in Game 2 of Bi-District Playoffs, Advancing to Area Championship

The mighty Eagle Pass High School Lady Eagles Softball Team swept the La Joya High School Lady Coyotes 10-5 in Game 2 of their best of three series in the Bi-District Playoffs on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at the Eagle Pass Independent School District Student Activity Center in Eagle Pass, Texas, advancing to the Area Championship next week against the Harlingen South High School Lady Hawks.
The Lady Eagles had a large crowd of Eagle Nation aficionados at Game 2 played at home supporting and cheering them on to victory over the pesky La Joya Lady Coyotes.
The Lady Eagles offense ripped the Lady Coyotes pitching for another trio of home runs in Game 2, including one each from Brooke Diaz, Alexandra Martinez, and Alyssa Lara, to ensure the hard fought win.
The Lady Eagles trounced the Lady Coyotes 11-1 in Game 1 of the Bi-District Playoffs on Friday, April 26th, at La Joya, Texas to take a 1-0 series lead.
The Lady Eagles explosive offense provided all the runs necessary to give the Lady Eagles the sweep over the La Joya Lady Coyotes and earned them the Bi-District Championship.
The Lady Eagles now advance to the second round known as the Area Championship against the potent Harlingen South High School Lady Hawks under the direction of Head Coach Elias Martinez, formerly of San Benito High School Lady Hounds fame.
The Area Championship dates, times, and location of play will be announced shortly after the two schools meet and decide these issues. One thing is certain: the Area Championship playoff between the Lady Eagles and Harlingen South Lady Hawks will be highly competitive and exciting. Get ready for some outstanding softball.
