Eagle Pass Police Department Crime Report

Friday, April 12, 2019, 7:40 PM: Officers responded to port of entry #1 in reference to a wanted person where the personal date of 49-year-old Hamid Kuri Jr was checked. An active Eagle Pass Police Department warrant for a felony driving while intoxicated charge was discovered and confirmed. Kuri was taken into custody and presented before a magistrate where he was formally charged and remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $5000.00 bond.
Saturday, April 13, 2019, 5:50 PM: Officers responded to a business within the 2400 block of Main Street in reference to a 911 call. Investigating officers arrived and spoke with 29-year-old Perry Kenard Lewis who made the 911 call which was not an emergency. Lewis was arrested and later charged before a magistrate with silent or abusive calls to the 911 service and remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $3000.00 bond.
Saturday, April 13, 2019, 7:18 PM: Eagle Pass Police Officers responded to a three-vehicle accident near the intersection of Del Rio Boulevard and North Veterans Boulevard. The collision between two vehicles forced one of the vehicles to collide head on with a third vehicle. Emergency medical services were rendered, and one person was transported to the emergency room for treatment.
Sunday, April 14, 2019, 2:02 AM: Officers responded to Elizabeth Circle in regards to a report of a possible discharge of a firearm. Officers arrived in the area and heard several gun shots and encountered 29-year-old Victor Manuel Zulaica who was carrying a shotgun. The shotgun was secured and Zulaica was arrested and transported to the police department where he was processed and later released on a municipal citation for the charge of discharging a firearm inside the city limits.
Sunday, April 14, 2019, 4:37 AM: Officers responded to the 900 block of North Veterans Boulevard and Basswood in regards to a single motor vehicle accident with a fixed object. A 2010 grey Toyota vehicle veered off the roadway and collided with a utility pole and a tree causing loss of electricity to homes and businesses in the surrounding area. AEP was notified and responded with a service crew to restore electrical power. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured and advised officers she possibly feel asleep while operating the vehicle.
