Eagle Pass Winn Lady Mavericks Drop Heartbreaker in Game 1 of Bi-District Playoffs against San Antonio Edison Lady Bears, 10-9

The thundering Eagle Pass Winn High School Lady Mavericks Softball Team dropped a heartbreaker in Game 1 of the best of three series in the 2019 UIL Region IV-5A Bi-District Playoffs against the San Antonio Edison High School Lady Bears 10-9 on Friday, April 26, 2019, at the San Antonio Independent School District Softball Complex in San Antonio, Texas.
The Lady Mavericks tagged the Lady Bears pitching for nine runs, but it was not enough as the Lady Bears plated 10 runs of their own to squeak out the hard fought victory.
Lady Mavericks catcher Briana Soto belted a two run home run in the game and Kiana Diaz batted 3 for 3 for the Lady Mavericks.
Lady Mavericks pitcher Angie Escamilla hurled a complete game but took the loss.
The Lady Mavericks will play the Lady Bears again in Game 2 of the best of three series on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 1 P.M. at the San Antonio Independent School District Softball Complex. If necessary, Game 3 will be 30 minutes following Game 2.
The Lady Mavericks will seek to defeat the Lady Bears in Game 2 to force a winner take all Game 3 on April 27th in San Antonio.

The winner of the Lady Mavericks and San Antonio Edison Lady Bears Bi-District Championship series will play against the Seguin High School Lady Matadors in the Area Championship. Seguin defeated Austin Crockett High School in their Bi-District series.
