Eagle Pass Winn Mavericks Face Boerne Champion Chargers in Area Baseball Championship Series

After sweeping the San Antonio Brackenridge High School Eagles in Bi-District, the thundering Eagle Pass Winn High School Mavericks Baseball Team advances to the second round known as Area Championship in the 2019 UIL Region IV-5A, Division I Baseball Playoffs and will face the Boerne Champion High School Chargers in a best of three series on May 9 and 11, 2019 at Jourdanton High School Baseball Stadium in Jourdanton, Texas.

The Winn Mavericks will enter the Area Championship series against the Boerne Champion Chargers as the third place representative of District 28-5A and with an overall season record of 20-11-1. The Boerne Champion Chargers come into the Area Playoff matchup with the Mavericks as the District 26-5A Champions, Bi-District Champions, and sport an overall season record of 30-5.

Both teams agreed to play their Area Championship best of three series at a neutral site, selecting Jourdanton High School Baseball Stadium in Jourdanton, Texas.

GAME 1

The first game of the best of three series between the Mavericks and Chargers will be played on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 7 P.M. at Jourdanton High School Baseball Stadium in Jourdanton.

GAME 2

The second game of the best of three series will be played on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 11 A.M. at the Jourdanton High School Baseball Stadium in Jourdanton.

GAME 3

If a third game is necessary to determine the Mavericks and Chargers Area Playoffs, it will be played 30 minutes following Game 2 on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Jourdanton High School Baseball Stadium.

The Mavericks swept the San Antonio Brackenridge Eagles in Bi-District in two close games by scores of 1-0 in Game 1 and 2-0 in Game 2.

The Boerne Champion Chargers also swept the Austin Crockett Cougars in two games in Bi-District by lopsided scores of 14-0 in Game 1 and 17-0 in Game 2.

Mavericks Baseball Head Coach Heriberto Roiz stated that the Mavericks team players have gained valuable experience during the 2019 season and are ready to take on the Boerne Champion Chargers in the Area Championship series.

Roiz invites all loyal Maverick Nation baseball aficionados to come out on Thursday and Saturday, May 9th and 11th, to Jourdanton, Texas to cheer and support the thundering Mavericks Baseball Team to victory in the Area Championship series against the Boerne Champion Chargers.
