Maverick County Receives $3.07 Million in Grant Funding for Landfill Expansion

(Press Release) EAGLE PASS, TX –U.S. Representative Will Hurd (TX-23) is pleased to announce the North American Development Bank (NADBank) approved $3.07 million in loans and grants to support expanding the sanitary landfill in Maverick County, Texas. This project will benefit all 54,258 residents by providing additional capacity to continue managing the proper disposal of 150 tons of solid waste each day.

Funding for this project is through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Border Environment Infrastructure Fund (BEIF), which is administered by NADBank, along with NADBank’s Community Assistance Program (CAP).

“This is vital for the public health and safety of Maverick County,” said Hurd. “This is why I fought to restore funding for the Border Water Infrastructure Program allowing these critical improvements to move forward, and I will continue to do everything in my power to protect the health and safety of South and West Texans.”
