The City of Eagle Pass, Texas City Council Election held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 favored incumbent City Council members as only 1,170 people came out to vote out of more than over 17,000 registered voters in the community, re-electing City Council members William D. (Billy) Davis and Yolanda P. Ramon.
Council member William D. (Billy) Davis received a total of 849 votes out of the 1,170 cast in the May 4th election to easily win without drawing an opponent for Place 1.
Place 2 drew three candidates including incumbent Council member Yolanda P. Ramon who received 734 votes, Alfredo Arrellano III obtained 394 votes, and Hector Munoz Mijares got 21 votes.
Davis and Ramon win re-election to another four year term on the Eagle Pass City Council.
Local political observers lamented the dismal voter turnout and viewed it as voter apathy in the community.
