City of Eagle Pass Hosting 4th of July Stars and Stripes Jam

The City of Eagle Pass, Texas is hosting a mega 4th of July Independence Day Stars and Stripes Jam and other activities to honor the 243rd Anniversary of the United States of America Independence Day, announced George Sanchez, Parks and Recreation Department Director.
Kicking off the 4th of July festivities will be the Miss 4th of July Pageant on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 8 P.M. at the Fort Duncan Historic Ruins in Eagle Pass. A $50 entry fee is required to compete for one of the following beauty categories: Miss 4th of July (14-27 year olds), Miss Liberty (9-13 year olds), Little Miss 4th of July (6-8 year olds), and Little Miss Liberty (3-5 year olds). The traditional red, white, and blue 4th of July Independence Parade is on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at 10 A.M. starting at San Juan Plaza and marching down Ceylon Street to Main Street. To register for the 4th of July Independence Day Parade please contact the City of Eagle Pass Parks and Recreation Department at (830) 773-4343 or the Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce at (830) 773-3224. Entry is free to all who register to participate. Come dressed in red, white, and blue.
After the 4th of July Independence Day Parade, walk on over to Eagle Grocery on Main Street for the Second Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest at 11:30 A.M. First place winner will receive a $500 prize. Eat all the free hot dogs you can eat in five minutes. The City of Eagle Pass will host Water Games for Children at Shelby Park at 5 P.M. with free admission to all children. Bring your children for fun and a splash time at Shelby Park.
The City of Eagle Pass 4th of July Stars and Stripes Jam commences with Live Music at Shelby Park at 6 P.M. with the Cumbia Music of El Gran Sabor de Adrian Diaz, followed by Da Krazy Pimpz, then Country and Western singer and musician Derek Spence will present A Tribute to George Straight, followed by the City of Eagle Pass Official 4th of July Ceremony with Mayor Ramsey English Cantu, followed by the highly anticipated 4th of July Fireworks Display at 10 P.M., and legendary band Siggno closes the live music at 10:30 P.M. Admission is totally free. Bring your family to Shelby Park for a great 4th of July Independence Day Celebration.
The 4th of July Independence Day Celebration concludes on Sunday, July 7, 2019 with the Stars and Stripes 5K Color Run and Walk at IBC Bank-Eagle Pass Downtown location starting at 5:30 P.M. with registration and the 5K Race starts at 7 PM through downtown Eagle Pass and Fort Duncan Park.
