Eagle Pass Police Department Crime Report

Friday, September 20, 2019, 4:12 PM: Officers took custody of 30-year old Andrea Cardenas from a Texas State Trooper on a traffic stop. Cardenas was arrested on a warrant which was issued as a result of an investigation of a stolen cellular telephone in February of 2018. Cardenas was presented before a magistrate and formally charged with theft over $100.00 but less than $750.00 and remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $2000.00 bond.
Saturday, September 21, 2019, 1:23 AM: An officer took custody a 22 year-old Ramon Flores Jr. from a Maverick County Sheriffs Deputy. Flores had been detained by the Deputy who discovered an active Eagle Pass Police Department warrant from an investigation initiated in December 2018. Flores was arrested and remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center after being formally charged with possession of a controlled substance and issued a $2,500.00 bond.
Saturday, September 21, 2019, 3:40 AM: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a reported intoxicated driver operating a 2012 black Nissan. The driver identified as 24-year-old Sergio Francisco Cervantes exited the vehicle where an officer safety check resulted in locating a 9mm handgun within the waistband of Cervantes’ pants. The officer also detected an odor of marijuana emanating from the interior of the vehicle and was informed by Cervantes he was in possession of marijuana. Officers checked the center console of the Nissan and located a clear plastic baggie containing marijuana. Cervantes was arrested and remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center after being formally charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and unlawful carrying of a weapon. Cervantes combined bond was set at $7,000.00.
