City of Eagle Pass Freezing Temperature Alert – December 17, 2019
The City of Eagle Pass has received notice from the National Weather Service of Freezing Temperatures.
- Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 25°F expected.
- From midnight tonight to 9 AM CST Wednesday.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
- Keep children, elderly and disabled inside home; if there is a need to go outside, make sure they are well covered.
- Protect pets.
- Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
- To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly.
- Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.

ALERTA DE TEMPERATURA DE CONGELACIÓN
La ciudad de Eagle Pass ha recibido aviso del Servicio Meteorológico Nacional de Temperaturas De Congelación.
- Temperaturas de sub-congelación tan bajas como 25°F esperadas.
- Desde la medianoche esta noche hasta las 9 AM Miércoles CST.
ACCIONES DE PRECAUCIONES/PREPARACIONES…
- Mantener a los niños, ancianos y discapacitados dentro del hogar; si hay una necesidad de salir, asegúrese de que estén bien cubiertos.
- Proteger a las mascotas.
- Tome medidas ahora para proteger las plantas tiernas del frío.
- Para evitar la congelación y el posible estallido de tuberías de agua al aire libre, deben envolverse, drenarse o dejar que gotee lentamente.
- Aquellos que tienen sistemas de aspersores en el suelo deben drenarlos y cubrir las tuberías sobre el suelo para protegerlos de la congelación.
