San Antonio attorney, mother, and advocate Xochil Pena Rodriguez announced that the prestigious San Antonio Express-News had endorsed her candidacy for Texas Senate District 19 among Democratic Party candidates in the March 3, 2020 Primary Election, commencing with Early Voting on Tuesday, February 18th and continuing until Friday, February 28th, and Election Day on March 3rd.
The San Antonio Express-News stated that the residents of Texas Senate District 19 need a person that has “…the right temperament and qualifications to serve as a state senator” in endorsing Xochil Pena Rodriguez over her Democratic Party opponents.
The winner of the Democratic Party Primary Election of Texas Senate District 19 will face incumbent Republican State Senator Pete Flores, who has no opponent in the Republican Party Primary Election, in the November 3, 2020 Texas General Election.
Xochil Pena Rodriguez stated that she was deeply honored to receive the largest newspaper in Senate District 19, as well as her hometown, endorsement in the Texas Democratic Party Primary election.
Pena Rodriguez added that the San Antonio Express-News’ endorsement has generated a groundswell of momentum and support in the Texas Senate District 19 race.
Pena Rodriguez noted that the San Antonio Express-News’ endorsement as well as earlier endorsements from the Texas AFL-CIO, Texas American Federation of Teachers, and the Laborers’ International Union of North America, families, and community leaders within the 17 counties in Senate District 19 have highlighted her public service experience and passion for representing the largest Senate District, territory-wise, in Texas.
Pena Rodriguez encourages all Texas Democrats to participate in the March 3, 2020 Democratic Party Primary Election, particularly cast their ballots early during the Early Voting Period from February 18-28, 2020.
Maverick County registered voters may cast their ballots during Early Voting at the City of Eagle Pass, Texas Multi-Purpose Center, located at 480 South Adams Street, Eagle Pass, Texas 78852 and on Election Day, March 3rd, at designated Maverick County Precinct Polling Places.
