La Michoacána Meat Market Opens in Eagle Pass

Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas, Jr., Mayor Pro-Tem Yolanda P. Ramon, and City Manager George Antuna welcomed the opening of Eagle Pass’s newest business, La Michoacána Meat Market, located at 2677 N. Veterans Blvd, on Wednesday, December 8, 2021.
After months of constructing the new store, La Michoacána Meat Market celebrated a soft opening on December 8 with City of Eagle Pass officials and a large crowd of new customers excited about the Houston, Texas-based business offering Hispanic foods, fresh meat products, fruits and vegetables, and restaurant in the community.
Mayor Salinas stated La Michoacána Meat Market is testament to great business opportunities available in Eagle Pass and a welcome investment in the community, serving the citizens of Eagle Pass with a variety of Hispanic food products and supermarket.
Mayor Salinas and City officials received a tour of the new La Michoacána Meat Market from store managers and staff.
Mayor Pro-Tem Yolanda P. Ramon stated Eagle Pass is growing and local citizens are demanding new products and services in the community such as La Michoacána Meat Market.
Mayor Pro-Tem Ramon added La Michoacána Meat Market is creating important new jobs in Eagle Pass.
City Manager George Antuna stated investments such as La Michoacána Meat Market are welcomed in Eagle Pass and city officials are ready to assist any individuals or businesses interested in opening a new business.
Since it’s opening on December 8, La Michoacána Meat Market has drawn large crowds of shoppers seeking to purchase fresh meats, fruits and vegetables, Hispanic food products, refreshments, and enjoy the delicious food offerings at its restaurant.
Local shoppers have expressed that a supermarket serving the Hispanic and general community needs was much needed and overdue in Eagle Pass.
Some shoppers noted the strategic location of the new La Michoacána Meat Market on North Veterans Blvd. is very easy to get to and has a large residential base to draw customers from in north Eagle Pass.
La Michoacána Meat Market was founded in 1986 in Houston, Texas and has rapidly grown to over 140 stores throughout Texas, becoming the largest chain of Hispanic supermarkets in the United States.
A formal grand opening of La Michoacána Meat Market will be scheduled in the near future by the company and local chamber of commerce and City officials.
