2022 Maverick County Jr. Livestock Show Sale Scheduled Saturday, January 22

The 2022 Maverick County Junior Livestock Show Sale will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Zan Mathies Showbarn in Eagle Pass, Texas, announced Armando De La Cruz, President of the Maverick County Junior Livestock Show Association.
Approximately 165 youth exhibitors will be selling their animal projects at the Saturday, January 22, MCJLS Sale, added De La Cruz.
All Maverick County and surrounding area businesses, entrepreneurs, investors, ranchers and farmers, foundations, and individuals are highly encouraged to attend and participate as one of the Buyers at the 2022 MCJLS Sale on Saturday, January 22. Buyers are requested to report early at 10 a.m. on January 22 to register and receive their List of Sale detailing the exhibitors and bidding and payment instructions. On Saturday, January 22, the 2022 MCJLS Sale will kick-off at 11 a.m. with the dedication of the Sale to all Maverick County First Responders and FFA Teachers Charles Lynn “Boogie” Purcell, Jr. and Carlos “Charlie” Cardenas, Jr. In addition, the Top 10 Buyers of the 2021 MCJLS will be presented and recognized.
Following the Dedication, the Sale of all the Grand Champion and Reserve Champion animals in the 2022 MCJLS will be auctioned off to the highest bidders followed by all the animals exhibited in this year’s show until the last animal is sold at auction.
Capping off the 2022 MCJLS will be the Western Dance to be held at the City of Eagle Pass International Center for Trade from 8 p.m. to 12 p.m., including a live Country and Western Band. Admission costs $10 for Exhibitors, $20 Advance Sale, and $30 at the Door. Western Dance Tickets are available for the Western Dance by contacting Dr. Claudia Wright at (830) 513-1535.
The MCJLS features hundreds of local youths in 4-H and FFA learning about ranch and farming through educational projects such as the 2022 MCJLS.
Admission to the 2022 MCJLS Sale on Saturday, January 22, is open to the public.
