Eagle Pass Police Department Investigating First Suicide Case of 2022

Eagle Pass Police Department Public Information Officer Humberto “Beto” Garza, Jr. announced the tragic death of an Eagle Pass, Texas male individual, age unknown, from a gunshot wound on Monday, January 3, 2022, at approximately 7 a.m. near Memorial Street, believed to be an apparent suicide.
Garza added the deceased male individual was found inside a white pick-up truck, registered to an individual residing on Stafford Street in Eagle Pass. A large caliber firearm was used in the incident.
A Maverick County Justice of the Peace was summoned and pronounced the male individual deceased at approximately 9 a.m. and ordered an autopsy.
The Eagle Pass Police Department received a telephone call at approximately 7 a.m. reporting the incident.
Sadly, this tragic incident appears to be the first suicide case of 2022.
The Eagle Pass Police Department Detective Division is investigating the case.
