In Loving Memory of Hector Trevino
Eagle Passan and United States Military Veteran Hector Trevino passed away on March 6, 2022 at the age of 69 to be with the Lord, adoring husband to Julissa Trevino.
Hector loved spending time fishing and hanging out on the golf course. He was a skilled player who had a hard time being serious. All who knew Hector was touched by his extreme kindness and humor. He always had to crack a joke. He had a distinct laugh that was extremely infectious. He had the talent to make any quiet room burst out in laughter.
Hector was greatly influenced by his parents, the late Antonio and Marcelina Trevino of Eagle Pass, Texas, to be responsible, hard working, and loyal and he incorporated these character traits into his commitment and loyalty to his community, state, and country.
Trevino was an intelligent, passionate and highly motivated man. After his graduation from Eagle Pass High School in 1971, these traits led him to proudly enlist in the United States Marines. During his military service with the United States Marines, he was assigned as an Embassy Guard of the United States Embassy in Montevideo, Uruguay and later at the American Embassy in the Republic of Haiti in Port of Prince, Haiti.
Following his honorable discharge from the U.S. military service, Trevino was hired by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a Corrections Officer at the Texas State Penitentiary in Huntsville, Texas. His passion for law enforcement led him to become a police officer and detective in Kingsville, Texas.
While living in Kingsville, Texas, Trevino obtained a Bachelor’s degree from Corpus Christi State University, now Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi, in 1985.
His dedication to public service and law enforcement led him to enroll in the United States Border Patrol, where his first assignment was in Chula Vista, California. His love for the state of Texas and wanting to be closer to home and his family, Trevino returned to Texas and advanced to the position of Patrol in Charge of the Zapata, Texas Border Patrol Sector until his retirement.
His love and passion for serving his country, Trevino enrolled as an Advisor for the United States in Afghanistan. He loyally flew and served in Afghanistan at the age of 60 while proudly wearing the American flag on his chest until his 14 months assignment ended.
Surviving him are his loving wife, Julissa Trevino, his children, Hector II and Katie, and his siblings, Antonio D. Trevino and Blanca T. Koester, their spouses, and many nieces and nephews along with their families.
Preceding him in death, are his parents, Antonio and Marcelina Trevino, and older brother, Ricardo Trevino.
Hector loved fiercely and deeply his family, siblings, friends, and his country. His family take comfort in knowing that Hector is now at peace surrounded by the Perpetual Light of Heaven.
