Judge Amado J. Abascal, III Re-Elected to Ninth Term as 365th Judicial District Court, Easily Defeating Challenger Edgar Juarez

Judge Amado J. Abascal, III easily defeated challenger, Edgar Juarez, in the March 1, 2022 Democratic Party Primary Election held in Dimmit, Maverick, and Zavala counties to garner a record ninth-term as the 365th Judicial District Court Judge since there is no Republican Party candidate in the November 8, 2022 General Election, receiving a total of 7,797 votes compared to Juarez’s 5,037 votes-a margin of 2,760 votes difference.
Judge Abascal, who has served as the 365th District Court judge since 1991, jumped to an early lead in Maverick County during Early Voting which he did not relinquish all evening as the Regular Election Day results came in, receiving a total of 5,327 votes compared to Juarez’s 3,536 votes alone in Maverick County.
Abascal also won handily in Zavala County with a total of 1,298 votes against 676 votes for Juarez, and doubled-up in Dimmit County with a total of 1,172 votes compared to Juarez’s 825 votes, winning all three counties.
Judge Abascal thanked his loyal and dedicated campaign staff and supporters at an Election Night party held at Lili’s The Venue in Eagle Pass, Texas.
Judge Abascal unveiled a new logo with the words “Come and Take It” for his campaign victory at the Election Night celebration.
Judge Abascal stated that he genuinely appreciated the strong support demonstrated by voters in Dimmit, Maverick, and Zavala counties with casting their ballots for his re-election to a ninth four year term as Judge of the 365th Judicial District Court.
Juarez, a political neophyte, fielded a respectable campaign against incumbent Abascal, but fell short in all three counties.
