Eagle Pass Winn Mavericks Face San Antonio Edison Bears in Bi-District Baseball Championship

The District 28-5A Baseball Champion Eagle Pass Winn High School Mavericks face San Antonio Edison High School Bears in a best of three Bi-District Championship series on Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7, 2022 under the University Interscholastic League, Region IV-5A Division.
The Mavericks enter the state playoffs with an impressive 27-2 overall season record and a 13-1 District 28-5A mark going into the Bi-District series while the San Antonio Edison Bears finished in fourth place in District 13-5A with an overall season record of 15-8-1 and a 12-6 district mark.
Game 1 of the best of three game series is on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 5 p.m. at the San Antonio Independent School District Sports Complex Baseball Field No. 1 in San Antonio, Texas.
Game 2 will be played on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 1 p.m. at the Eagle Pass Independent School District Student Activity Center Leopoldo Moncada Baseball Stadium.
Game 3, if needed, will be played 30 minutes following Game 2 at the EPISD Student Activity Center Leopoldo Moncada Baseball Stadium.
The Mavericks team members include Alan Vielma, Manuel Melchor, Alan Jimenez, Efrain Estrada, Jorge Saucedo, Juan Martinez, Apolonio Delgado, Santiago García, Gabriel Balderas, Daunte Leija, J.P. Ramos, Jared Aguirre, Jorge Salinas, Jaime Barrientos, Aaron Rodriguez, and Eulises Olveda.
The Mavericks are under the tutelage of Head Coach Heriberto Roiz and Assistant Coaches Rene Ramirez, Domingo López, and Rolando Salinas.
All Eagle Pass and Winn Mavericks baseball aficionados are encouraged to attend the playoff series between the Mavericks and Edison Bears and support the Mavericks on to victory.
