Eagle Pass International Bridge 1 Abrazo Ceremony Temporary Closure

Eagle Pass, TX (March 27, 2023) – The City of Eagle Pass International Bridge System would like to announce the temporary closure of Eagle Pass International Bridge 1 beginning on Thursday March 30, 2023 beginning at 4:30 p.m. and re-opening approximately at 8:00p.m. The temporary closure will be for vehicular traffic ONLY, pedestrian traffic WILL NOT be affected! The temporary closure will take place to host the yearly tradition of the Abrazo Ceremony hosted at boundary line at Bridge 1.
We kindly ask all vehicular customers seeking to cross to Mexico during the temporary closure to please do to through Camino Real International Bridge (Bridge 2) for your fastest way to cross. We highly recommend crossing before or after the event closure to ensure a timely crossing. Please obey all traffic signage and personnel. Vehicles will not be allowed to line up at the Bridge 1 toll plaza prior the bridge reopening.
IF NEEDED, Bridge 2 traffic access changes can and will be activated between temporary closure. In the interest of public safety, our Police Department reserves the right to implement traffic route changes as needed.
