Second Annual Best of Eagle Pass Peoples Choice Awards Winners Announced

The City of Eagle Pass Economic Development Department hosted the Second Annual Best of Eagle Pass Peoples Choice Awards on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at the International Center for Trade in Eagle Pass, Texas, announcing the winners in 27 award categories.
With a red carpet draped West Room at the International Center for Trade, City of Eagle Pass Marketing Director Aide Castano welcomed guests to the Second Annual Best of Eagle Pass Peoples Choice Awards.
Kicking off the awards was the Best Place for Breakfast in Eagle Pass category won by Gaona’s Restaurant.
Winning the Best Place for Lunch or Dinner category was won by Parrilla San Miguel Restaurant.
Named as the Best Barbeque in Eagle Pass was won by The Wagon Wheel for the second consecutive year.
The Best Pizza Place category winner was Cooter’s Pub in downtown Eagle Pass.
The Best Tacos in Town category winner was Los Compadres.
Named as the Best Place to Get a Burger category winner was Yopo’s on Main Street.
The Best Local Chicken category winner was none other than Rodee’s Country Fried Chicken.
Winning the Best Place to Get Ice Cream category was Tocumbo.
Named as the Best Local Coffee category winner was Sweet Tweets Bakery in downtown Eagle Pass.
Sweeping the Best Bakery in Town category was none other than Sweet Tweets Bakery.
Named as the Best Live Music Venue category winner was the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino.
The Best Local Gym category winner was Planet Fitness.
Named as the Best Place for Cocktails in Eagle Pass category winner was the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino.
Earning the Top Park in Eagle Pass category award was Maverick County Lake.
Winning the Best Place to Take Pictures in Eagle Pass category was the historic Fort Duncan Barracks in downtown Eagle Pass.
Named as the Best Place for Kids category winner was none other than Peter Piper Pizza on South Bibb Avenue.
The Best Hair Salon award category winner was Hair and Beauty by Olguita and Michelle.
Winning the Best Tatoo Shop in Eagle Pass category was Texas Ink.
Named as the Best Barbershop in Eagle Pass category winner was Luis Barbershop.
The Best Place to Get a Mani/Pedi-Cure in Eagle Pass category winner was Infinity Nails.
Winning the Best Local Clothing Store award category winner was CDJ Mode.
Named as the Best Western Wear Store in Eagle Pass category winner was Danny’s Western Wear.
The Best Local Grocery Shop award category winner was Casino Grocery & Meat Market.
Sweeping the Best One Stop Shop award category was Casino Grocery & Meat Market.
Winning the Best Customer Service in Town award category was Chick-Fil-A Restaurant.
Named as the Best Place to Stay in Eagle Pass award category winner was Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino & Hotel.
Closing out the awards ceremony, named as the Best Flower Shop in Eagle Pass award category was Lili’s Flower Shop.
Over 2,700 people cast their votes for the 27 award categories online to determine the Best of Eagle Pass Peoples Choice Award winners.
The Best of Eagle Pass award winners will be published in a sleek tourism magazine that will be promoted by the City of Eagle Pass as part of its economic development and tourism marketing campaign.
Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas, Jr. congratulated all the award winners and wished them continued success in 2023.
Maverick County Judge Ramsey English Cantu congratulated all the nominees and winners of the Second Annual Best of Eagle Pass Peoples Choice Awards and noted small businesses and entrepreneurs are critical to economic development in Eagle Pass and Maverick County.
Eagle Pass Economic Development Department Director Arturo Marquez stated the Best of Eagle Pass Peoples Choice Awards were born from inquiries from visitors and tourists to Eagle Pass who always asked where were the best places to eat or do business in Eagle Pass.
