Eagle Pass Man Allegedly Commits Suicide
The Maverick County Sheriff Department reported a male individual was found deceased at his residence in Rosita Valley in Eagle Pass, Texas by family members on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, allegedly by hanging himself and committing suicide.
Upon arrival at the residence of the deceased, Maverick County Sheriff Deputies found the male individual without vital signs. A Maverick County Justice of the Peace was summoned to declare the male individual deceased and ordered an autopsy be performed as required by state law.
Maverick County has registered five suicides in the first five months of 2023, reflecting a mental health crisis in the county.
Maverick County residents are encouraged to seek help and contact a crisis hotline telephone number to receive counseling. The Camino Real Community Services offers a crisis hotline by calling 1-800-543-5750 on a 24 hours a day basis and 7 days a week availability.
The case is under investigation by the Maverick County Sheriff’s Department.
