Eagle Pass to Host Ports-To-Plains Alliance Annual Conference During September 13-15

The City of Eagle Pass will host the Ports-To-Plains Alliance Annual Conference during September 13-15, 2023, at the City of Eagle Pass International Center for Trade, 3295 Bob Rogers Drive, Eagle Pass, Texas, announced Lauren Garduno, President and CEO at the Ports-to-Plains Alliance.
“The theme for the Annual Conference is “We Deliver,” featuring the impact of the Ports-to-Plains Alliance delivering infrastructure, economic opportunity, international trade, energy, and agriculture across North America, said Garduno.
The Ports-to-Plains Alliance is pleased and honored to hold its Annual Conference in Eagle Pass, Texas, one of four border port cities within the Alliance. An estimated 150 or more members of the Ports-to-Plains Alliance are expected to attend the three day annual conference in Eagle Pass.
The Ports-to-Plains Alliance is a non-profit, bipartisan, grassroots alliance of more than 200 partner communities and businesses across nine states from Texas to North Dakota as well as from Mexico and Canada. The Alliance advocates for a robust international transportation infrastructure to promote economic security and prosperity throughout North America’s energy and agricultural heartland including Mexico to Canada.
The Alliance is currently advocating for the development and funding of a four-lane divided interstate highway, designated IH-27, from Laredo, Texas to North Dakota connecting domestic and international trade between the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
President Joe Biden officially signed on March 15, 2022 the Fiscal Year 2022 Omnibus Appropriations Legislation that include the designation of the entire Ports-to-Plains Corridor in Texas and New Mexico as a future interstate highway, IH-27.
The 2023 Ports-to-Plains Annual Conference in Eagle Pass will feature top keynote speakers such as Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Board of Commissioner Alex Meade, III, TxDOT Executive Director Marc Williams, Cal Klewin, Executive Director of Theodore Roosevelt Expressway Association, Deb Cottier, Chair of the Heartland Expressway Association, Epigmenio Gonzalez, P.E., Laredo District Engineer of TxDOT, Roberto Rodriguez, Laredo District Director of Transportation Planning and Development, John Osborne, Chair of Ports-to-Plains Alliance, Jolanda Prozzi, Program Manager: Environment and Planning, Texas Transportation Institute, William F. Mackey, Jr., P.E., Senior Vice-President, Kimley Horn, U. S. Senator Deb Fischer of Nebraska via Video, State Representative Carl Tepper, and many others.
