The City of Eagle Pass Awarded Body-Worn Camera Grant from the Office of the Governor

Eagle Pass, TX – Mayor Rolando Salinas, Jr. and the City Council are proud to announce that the City of Eagle Pass has been awarded a Body-Worn Camera Grant in the amount of $64,695. The grant funds were awarded through the Office of Governor Greg Abbott’s Public Safety Office –Criminal Justice Division. The City of Eagle Pass committed a grant cash match of $21,565. The total project cost for the body-worn cameras is $86,260.
The grant funding will allow our Eagle Pass Police Department to purchase state-of-the art body-worn cameras. The new cameras will enable our police officers to be adequately equipped to capture and collect real time audio/video evidence while performing daily duties such as but not
limited to traffic stops, field interviews, field sobriety testing and more.
“The grant funds provided by the Governor’s Office will allow for our Eagle Pass Police Department to replace our current aging body-worn cameras,” said Rolando Salinas, Jr., Mayor for the City of Eagle Pass. “The City of Eagle Pass appreciates the Governor’s Office for awarding these critical funds that allow for us to continue to provide state-of-the art equipment to our officers.”
