State of Texas County & District Clerks’ Association Region 8 Spring Conference Held in Eagle Pass

The State of Texas County and District Clerks’ Association Region 8 held their Spring 2025 Conference during April 9-11, 2025 at the City of Eagle Pass International Center for Trade in Eagle Pass, Texas, announced Maverick County District Clerk Leopoldo “Polo” Vielma.
Over 75 Region 8 Texas County and District Clerks’ Association members attended the Spring Conference held in Eagle Pass, said Sara Montemayor, Maverick County Clerk.
Spring Conference attendees registered on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino in Eagle Pass. A welcome reception and dinner was held April 9th at Gaona’s Restaurant located at 1755 East Garrison Street.
Region 8 Director R. David Guerrero, Jim Wells County District Clerk, welcomed the conference attendees on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at the International Center for Trade. Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas, Jr. thanked the Region 8 conference attendees for selecting Eagle Pass as their Spring Conference site and wished them the best in their business and training matters at the conference. Maverick County Judge Ramsey English Cantu congratulated the Texas County & District Clerk Association members for their dedicated service to their counties and the State of Texas as County and District Clerks. Maverick County District Clerk Leopoldo “Polo” Vielma presented an Invocation at Breakfast on April 10th.
The Eagle Pass C. C. Winn High School Air Force ROTC Color Guard presented the colors and national anthem on April 10th. Maverick County Clerk Sara Montemayor presented the Pledge of Allegiance and Texas Pledge at Breakfast on April 10th.
Conference attendees enjoyed a series of seminars and training during April 10th, including the Region 8 Business meeting. Following a busy day of seminars and training sessions, conference attendees enjoyed dinner and music at the renowned Choche’s BBQ Restaurant & Bar in Eagle Pass.
The Conference ends on Friday, April 11th, after a Breakfast session and additional training seminars.
Mayor Salinas stated the Region 8 Conference brought important hotel and tourism revenues to the community of Eagle Pass. Salinas encourages all local entities, organizations, and groups to bring their respective conferences and conventions to the City of Eagle Pass International Center for Trade to promote economic development and tourism in our community. Salinas congratulated the Texas County and District Clerks’ Association Region 8 Board of Directors and members for visiting and hosting their Spring Conference in Eagle Pass.
