Eagle Pass to Celebrate Memorial Day on Friday, May 30th at Maverick County Veterans Memorial Amphitheater

The United States of America annually celebrates Memorial Day on the last Monday of the month of May to honor and remember the brave men and women who served in the Armed Forces and sacrificed their lives defending democracy and freedom both at home and abroad. This year Memorial Day fell on Monday, May 26, 2025.
The Eagle Pass Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8562, American Legion Post 211, and the County of Maverick will host the 2025 Memorial Day Celebration on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the Maverick County Veterans Memorial Amphitheater in Eagle Pass, Texas, announced Diana Cruz Montoya, VFW Post 8562 Commander.
The May 30th Memorial Day Celebration is open to the public and admission is free. There will be a solemn salute to the men and women of Maverick County whom have passed away serving the Armed Forces. The program will also include playing of Taps for the fallen heroes, a moment of silence, remembrance of the Veterans Missing in Action (MIA), presentation of colors by the joint U. S. Customs and Border Protection and Border Patrol Color Guard, a 21 gun salute, a keynote speech by a fellow Veteran, live patriotic music, reading of the names of the fallen Maverick County heroes, and a time of remembrance and reflection to honor and remember our local Veterans who paid the ultimate sacrifice while in service of their great nation, the United States of America.
The annual Memorial Day Celebration hosted by the Eagle Pass VFW Post 8562, American Legion Post 211, and the County of Maverick is a beautiful and solemn ceremony that brings honor and remembrance to all Maverick County Veterans who served our nation with honor and distinction. The public is encouraged to attend and honor the great men and women in the United States Armed Forces on May 30th at 11 a.m. at the Maverick County Lake Veterans Memorial Amphitheater.
