The City of Eagle Pass, Texas City Council under the leadership of Mayor Aaron Valdez unanimously approved at a special meeting held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, to hire a private law firm to represent the City of Eagle Pass and file a lawsuit against 57 Music Fest management company, Just 1 Management, LLC, for its non-cooperation with the City’s audit of the $2.3 million loss sustained at the three day music festival held during April 5-7, 2024.
The City of Eagle Pass efforts to learn and discover the reasons why the 57 Music Fest lost $2.3 million has been frustrated with the lack of cooperation by Just 1 Management, LLC with the City’s requests for records to determine the losses as well as avoid similar situations in the future.
City taxpayers have had to pay for the large $2.3 million loss from the City coffers, causing the City to restrict necessary public purchases for the efficient operation of City government during the 2024-2025 fiscal year budget.
The City of Eagle Pass has sought the assistance of all available authorities to determine the reasons for the large financial loss sustained by the 57 Music Fest project.
Taxpayers are demanding the City Council to take whatever necessary steps are needed to hold accountable all individuals and entities, if any, responsible for the $2.3 million loss. A lawsuit is most likely to be filed in the immediate future either in state or federal district court. Stay tuned.
