Texas Water Development Board Brings Funding Expertise to Maverick County Through Eagle Pass Workshop

Eagle Pass, TX — June 18, 2025 — The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) visited the Eagle Pass community on Wednesday to host a vital Financial Assistance Workshop aimed at supporting Maverick County’s water infrastructure development. The event took place at the IBC Bank’s 2nd Floor Community Suite, located at 2395 E. Main Street, Eagle Pass, TX 78852.
Maverick County Judge Ramsey English Cantu welcomed the Texas Water Development Board representatives and local county residents in attendance.
Maverick County Commissioner Precinct 3 Olga M. Ramos stated more Maverick County residents should take advantage of the different financial assistance programs available through the Texas Water Development Board.
The workshop brought together TWDB experts with local leaders, utility providers, and community stakeholders to identify and advance infrastructure priorities. Participants received tailored, one-on-one guidance to help align their specific project ideas with state-level funding programs. The goal: to strengthen community access to crucial financial resources for water-related infrastructure initiatives.
During the session, TWDB representatives highlighted a range of state-supported funding opportunities available for projects involving drinking water, wastewater, stormwater management, and flood mitigation—all areas critical to the continued growth and resilience of Maverick County.
By offering direct technical assistance and actionable insights, the TWDB continues its mission to empower Texas communities with the tools and support needed to build sustainable, resilient infrastructure that safeguards public health and preserves natural resources.
