Eagle Pass Fire Department Celebrates Professional Excellence Ceremony Courage,
EAGLE PASS, TEXAS – The City of Eagle Pass Fire Department proudly hosted its Professional Excellenceceremony, honoring the exceptional service, leadership, and dedication of its firefighters. This year’s event on Friday, July 11th, 2025 marked a day of pride and reflection, highlighting the men and women who put their lives on the line each day to protect the community.
With community members, families, and city officials in attendance, the department celebrated milestones ranging from new firefighter inductions to life-saving heroics and advanced certifications in emergency response.
In a time-honored pinning ceremony, ten recruits were officially sworn in as firefighters after successfully completing intensive training. These courageous individuals are now ready to serve the Eagle Pass community with integrity, strength, and compassion, including Jeremiah Alaniz, Jose Anzures, Eliab Chavez, Valente Dominguez, Jose Escamilla, Cody Esquivel, Jose Flores, Jesse Gonzalez, Rolando Rodriguez, and George Sanchez
The department recognized three deserving members for their promotion to Lieutenant, acknowledging their proven leadership and commitment to public safety: Lt. Omar Amezcua, Deputy Fire Marshal, Lt. Robert Bazan, Deputy Fire Marshal, and Lt. Ricardo De Luna, Line Lieutenant.
Their new roles reflect the department’s investment in developing leaders who inspire professionalism and operational excellence.
The highlight of the ceremony included the presentation of several prestigious awards to members who went above and beyond the call of duty including, Company Officer of the Year: Lt. Alvaro Rodriguez, Firefighter of the Year: FF/AEMT Adrian Davila, Life-Saving Award: FF/Paramedic Michael Morales, Meritorious Conduct Award: Capt. Luis Gonzalez, Distinguished Service Award: FF/Paramedic Sean Perales, Exceptional Duty Award: Lt. Maire K. Aranda, and Baby Delivery Commendation: FF/Paramedic Pedro Abrego.
These recognitions underscore the bravery, quick decision-making, and unwavering dedication that define the Eagle Pass Fire Department.
The department also commended a group of firefighters who earned advanced certifications in firefighting and emergency medical services. These accomplishments reflect a strong commitment to continuous learning and excellence in service delivery, FF/Paramedic Pedro Abrego, FF/Paramedic Lt. Maire Katherine Aranda, FF/Paramedic Jose Balino, FF/Paramedic Luis Barrientos, FF/Paramedic Lt. Robert Bazan, FF/Paramedic Daniel Cazares, FF/Paramedic Roger Espinoza, FF/Paramedic Jose Garza III, FF/Paramedic Jesus Mendoza, FF/Paramedic Sean Perales, and FF/Paramedic Carlos Rodriguez.
