In Loving Memory of Rogelio Morin
Rogelio “Roger” Morin
April 10, 1950 – June 6, 2025

Rogelio Morin, known as Roger to his friends, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, in his hometown of Eagle Pass, Texas, at the age of 75.
Roger was born on April 10, 1950, in Eagle Pass to the late Rafael
T. and Teodula (González) Morin II. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, educator, and federal officer, Roger lived a life of service, faith, and quiet strength.
In 1970, Roger joined the United States Air Force and served honorably as a military police officer in North Dakota and California as well as deployments to the countries of South Korea, Vietnam and Thailand. After separating from the Air Force in 1974, he earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1978.
He began his professional career as an ESOL and reading teacher at Eagle Pass High School, where he encouraged and uplifted countless students. In 1982, Roger joined the U.S. Border Patrol, serving in Marfa, Texas, and at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia. He later transferred to the Immigration and Naturalization Service in Presidio, Texas. In 1987, he returned to his hometown to serve at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry, where he rose through the ranks to become Port Director.
Following the creation of the Department of Homeland Security, he continued his career as Assistant Port Director under U.S.Customs and Border Protection. He retired with distinction in 2013.
A man of deep faith, Roger was a longtime and active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Eagle Pass, where he served faithfully as an extraordinary eucharistic minister, lector, and alter server. He was also a proud 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, dedicated to charitable works and service to his Church and community.
On September 7, 1974, Roger married the love of his life, Maria del Consuelo Ramirez. Together, they shared 50 years of love and partnership, raising a close-knit and devoted family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Maria del Consuelo, and their three children: Maribel (Eric) Lozano, Nancy (Donald) Harper, and Rogelio Alfonso Morin. He was a proud and deeply loving grandfather to James Rogelio Harper, Anthony Ephrem Lozano, and Anna Maria Lozano.
Roger is also survived by his siblings: Magdalena Morin, Olga Peña, Carmen (Rogelio) Rodriguez, Guadalupe Morin Layman, and Roberto Morin. He is preceded in death by his siblings Rafael Morin Ill, Juan G. Morin, Baby Rogelio G. Morin, Delia Segura Guerrero, and Dora Komurek.
Roger will be remembered for his humility, steadfast faith, strong work ethic, and loving devotion to both family and country. His quiet leadership and generous spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Chapel and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Eagle Pass, Texas. A rosary was recited by the Knights of Columbus on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. Burial was held at Our Lady of Refuge Cemetery, Eagle Pass, Texas. Members of the Knights of Columbus of Eagle Pass, Texas and The U.S. Customs and Border Protection Honor guard, from Laredo, Texas, provided military honors.
The Morin family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Eagle Pass Hospice, medical staff, and caregiving professionals, family and friends for their compassionate care and for their steadfast support and friendship during this time. The family appreciates shows of concern, letters, deliveries, and prayers from family members, friends and the community.
