Kristian “Chino” Valadez Presented with Mayor’s Excellence Award for Team USA Baseball Selection
EAGLE PASS, TEXAS – Mayor Aaron Valdez and City Councilwoman Jessica Rey Ramon proudly presented the Mayor’s Excellence Award to 12-year-old Eagle Pass baseball standout Kristian “Chino” Valadez during a press conference held on Wednesday, July 1, 2025, at the Eagle Pass City Council Chambers.
Kristian Valadez earned this prestigious recognition after being selected to the Team USA 12U National Baseball Team in June 2025, marking a historic milestone as the first Eagle Pass native to receive this honor.
A rising seventh grader at Eagle Pass Junior High, Valadez recently completed sixth grade at Graves Elementary. He began playing baseball at the age of five and has grown into an exceptional athlete over the past seven years. His dedication and talent have placed him on a national stage.
In addition to his Team USA selection, Valadez is an active player on the Eagle Pass Little League 12 & Under All-Star Team, which recently won the Texas West Section 3 Championship. The team will compete in the Texas West State Championship this week in Abilene, Texas.
Later this month, Kristian will travel overseas with Team USAto Taiwan, where he will compete in the World Baseball Championship, representing both his country and his hometown on an international level.
Kristian is the proud son of Eddie Valadez and Anabel Ramosof Eagle Pass.
